With the new Tomodachi Life soon to be released, I figured I'd make a thread to contain the wacky shenanigans that happen on my island. Other people can post about their Tomodachi islands as well if we want a single thread to contain them, or this can just be a thread for my own game. I'm fine either way.
The game isn't out yet, but I did upload a compilation of me completing the demo.
First islander is my friend Blinkpen's OC, Bianca. I added her specifically as a challenge to see if I could make a convincing Mii using all the new features. I think she came out alright! I might tweak the metal half of her face, though, it might go a little too far back. There's definitely some room for improvement, but I'm happy enough with her for now. She immediately tests the game's (lack of) profanity filter, as her father is an evil dictator who she hopes to dethrone some day.
She makes quick friends with Graylef, my evil clone or whatever. My spouse wants our Miis to be married, so I added a doppelganger of myself so that I can vicariously live through him as he falls in love with Shrek or Goku or whoever. After the video, I tweaked him slightly, flipping his hair so that it mirrors my own.
Finally is Dracula Flow, which is a Mii I found on Tomodachishare.com, made by Lochnessmonster_1107. They knocked it out of the park, I think. I might remove the eyes behind his glasses, that might be funnier.
Bianca and Graylef now refer to each other as Blanca and Gray Guy. This nickname system is going to add so much character to the game, I can't wait. Dracula also tests the profanity filter. He has a few notable catchphrases he'd ideally say, but the character limit on those phrases is pretty tight. You can kinda cheat, though, as the character limit for the pronunciation is a bit longer. So while his text simply says "fuckin KILL you", I eventually set it so that out loud, he says "I'll fuckin' KILL you." It might just be long enough to get him to pronounce "this shit ain't nothin' to me, man." Maybe I'll test that out in the full game.
Overall, a very compelling demo. Gives you JUST enough to get you excited for the full game. I can't wait for the full release on Thursday!

Tomodachi Life is such a fascinating game to me because I know virtually nothing about it save for people posting silly things they made with it. Is it like a little movie creator or a game like Sims or Animal Crossing or similar?

I would say it’s closer to sims, in that you don’t have much direct control over the characters. It’s basically about watching them go about their lives and seeing what weird things happen, while occasionally offering them gifts, phrases, food, etc.

Oh HELL yeah I cant wait to see the OC fuckery. I already have seen some real winners in the screenshot department so im psyched lol

Lots of gags, many of which are unintentional or made worse consciously by God (you) lol- and there is queer people this time, so it will hopefully pop off

The full game is here! Part 1 has been uploaded!
I mainly focused on adding friends from my core group today: Myself, my spouse Quinn, and a couple of our friends, Tyler and Manni. For Manni, I tried making her fursona, but she wound up looking more like a bunny than a sheep. Oh well, good enough for now. I still have another couple friends to add, and then we'll start to add some real weirdos.
Graylef and Dracula Flow bonded over their evil tendencies, and I was especially surprised by how my Mii interacted with my evil clone. Things are already getting interesting...
Since uploading images in bulk is a pain in the ass (and since the images I uploaded in the first post seem to have broken), I'll hold off on them for now. I mainly only screenshotted the Mii details, anyhow.

Yeah, Discord is no longer a good place to host pictures for linking to outside sources. Discord embeds/links expire in 24 hours now IIRC
I had a hearty chuckle about "I feel unsettled for some reason, fuck you dad" 😀 This looks like a pretty wacky game, I can easily imagine how people managed to pull off all the crazy stuff now lol

Didn't expect today to provide even more footage than yesterday. Introduced my friend Momo, as well as Tangerine the clown and Curly Terry the stick figure. The island is starting to feel alive! Relationships continue to blooom, though not exactly the ones I expected.

Gave out some handmade pets. I want to do a little more work with treasures, food and infrastructure. In the meantime, I added a couple more miis: Cleo is based on a friend’s OC, and was one of the favorite miis on my original island. Minnie Stronie is the sexiest OC I have, so I naturally had to add her. The gender balance of the island is still a little lopsided, I gotta add more ladies and enbies.

I was planning on uploading a new part tonight, but then right before I was about to save, a chain of drama happened all at once. I'll work on editing a new part tomorrow night, which, based on the number of replays, is shaping up to be the longest part yet!

Part 4 is up! Didn't wind up being as long as I thought, had a lot of clips that wound up on the cutting room floor. Still, this is a pretty hectic episode, with lots of romantic ups and downs. New additions include Sillypickles, my DnD character who is a fairy ghost. She came out pretty much 1:1, I'm pretty proud of that. Next is The Big Oatmeal and Sam Sandwich, the two Prinnies I used throughout Disgaea 4. I am...less happy with how they came out lol, but good enough. They'll look better once I make some custom clothes and get them some bat wings or something.

Part 5 is up! We have a couple new residents today. One is Stranded Sandy, a character I pretty much made up on the spot for the gimmick. We'll see how long I can keep the gimmick up. The other one...Well, I won't spoil it. I have enough clips for another part already, I'll probably edit that together later today!
