Hey guys, this is the first time I will be making use of the blog posting feature on the site— in the future it will be used for giving updates regarding the forum structure and rules etc. With that out of the way, updates!
NSFW Content Changes
After a thought of thinking I have decided that while the forum will remain 18+ that I will be creating a section specifically for nsfw works after all. This is for two reasons primarily
- It simply makes it easier to sort through for people who are not trying to navigate threads that would otherwise contain nsfw content and
- My original idea around the spoiler system isn’t actually helpful when spoilers are also often more helpful to be used for collapsing/organizing longer thread posts and compilation threads.
As should be obvious, it has nothing to do with censorship and just short of the site getting shut down I never intend to implement any content control/restrictions (with bigotry and hate speech being the obvious exception).
The new parent forum is for the time being called THE DANGER ZONE. From now on, please put all of your r18 content there- and as always, non-registered users will not be able to access or post in this area. Thank you!
Subject Consolidation for Ease of Navigation
I admit I have a nasty habit of trying too hard to neatly compartmentalize topics for navigation purposes but after some thinking with consideration to our user count I am making the decision to narrow down some of the parent forums and their sub-categories. I am hoping this causes less confusion with regard to where and how we should be posting in the forum. The new category and sub-categories are as follows:
Main Category – This section has had little change by comparison- the largest being that I have combined general topics and self-promo with the outdated “media discussion” sub-category, as that often qualifies into being a general topic of discussion and critique and so it makes less clutter to put them together.
- General Topics
- Once again, for any general conversations or life documentation.
- Self-Promo and Advertisement
- Still where you post things that lead to spaces that are offsite. This includes social media accounts, websites, digital storefronts and convention appearances/vending.
- Media Discussion
- I have consolidated all media types to a single sub-category. From now on, please use the tagging system to make distinctions between genre and medium! (ie; if posting about films, use tags like ‘movies’ or ‘film’ to make it easier to find by other members. Feel free to put the medium and genre in the title of your thread itself where relevant too!)
Art Share and Creativity – Some of the sub-categories have been condensed to create less confusion around where your work should be posted.
- Illustration and 2D Media
- Digital Illustration and Graphic Design, Painting and Drawing, Photography (raw or with edits!), merchandise design (like stickers, prints, charms etc) and all other 2D specific mediums of artwork.
- Writing and Music
- Poetry, prose, novels, short-stories and music compositions, albums, or other relevant content.
- 3D Works and Crafting
- Crochet, knitting, needlepoint, model kits, scrapbooking/cardmaking, model/mini painting, 3D printing, sculpting, costuming and makeup, and other 3D analog art mediums.
- 3D Rigs and Renders
- Digital 3D model rigging, renders, and screenshots using them. Live2D models qualify, and yes, g-poses can count— but they should be works of art that are YOUR OWN CREATIONS. All other g-poses or similar, unedited or self-composed screenshots should be posted in the Main Category.
With regard to works that are not yours, but are still things you wish to share, please take care to only post works with artist credit and that you specify that in post tags or forum titles— good examples for tags are using the artist’s handle, linking to their URLs in your post, or even specifying yours when sharing your own work.
THE DANGER ZONE
- Self Promo (w/Spice)
- Advertisement board specifically for r18 content (ie art commissions and off-site adult content sales). All promotion must be of YOUR own content and works. Thank you!
- Art and Fiction
- Illustration, Design, Comics, or other 2D mediums that feature r18 artworks
- Photography and Video
- Photography or videos containing IRL bodies and scenarios adult in nature. Please only post content that includes yourself with permission from any other involved parties, and do not post anything pertaining to masturbation or other sex acts– erotic nudity or salacious imagery is permitted. Please feel free to create promotional posts linking off-site for content involving sales or sex acts. Thank you!
All in all, I trust you all to be a good self-judge of where your desired posts should go. In the event that there are any issues, I will be in touch- but I do not plan to get involved unless its a particularly egregious case. In some few cases there were threads accidentally removed in the process of consolidation (aka me clicking a bit too quickly through some menus)— if you find a thread you previously created no longer exists, please feel free to make a new one, but to my knowledge only one thread was actually deleted in this process. Please feel free to use the Q and A forum section if you have any questions or concerns.
